WAY OF LOVE

What is the Way of Love?

Envisioned by Presiding Bishop Michael B. Curry as "spare and spacious, so that individuals, ministry groups, congregations, and networks can flesh it out in unique ways," the Way of Love hearkens back to the "deep roots of our Christian tradition" by offering a set of practices to deepen and enrich life in the Episcopal Branch of the Jesus Movement. Its seven aspects of Turn - Learn - Pray - Worship - Bless - Go - Rest each offer their own piece of the key to living a Jesus-centered life.

What are the seven aspects of the Way of Love?

Turn

Pause, listen, and choose to follow Jesus.

Learn

Reflect on Scripture each day, especially on Jesus' life and teachings.

Pray

Dwell intentionally with God each day.

Worship

Gather in community weekly to thank, praise, and dwell with God.

Bless

Share faith and unselfishly give and serve.

Go

Cross boundaries, listen deeply, and live like Jesus.

Rest

Receive the gift of God's grace, peace, and restoration.

How do we implement the Way of Love?

The Way of Love is intended to be infused into every current practice of each congregation that makes a commitment to it. At Good Shepherd, we live out the Way of Love through our ministry of Invite Welcome Connect.

Invite Welcome Connect is a ministry of teams with the mission to grow the Episcopal Branch of the Jesus Movement by inviting people through the church doors, welcoming them with open arms, and connecting them with people and ministries that speak to their hearts and fill their souls.
