Good Shepherd Schedule of Events
(Six Weeks of Exciting Endings and New Beginnings)
Sunday, August 23 - 8:45 Worship Service – Decommissioning of Search Committee.
This has been an unusually hard working and committed Search Committee deserving of our “thanks.” Be there and support them if you possibly can.
Sunday, August 30 - 4:00 PM “Going Away” Ice Cream Social Party for Father Gary Goldacker. It has been a miracle blessing for Good Shepherd to have had Gary as Interim Pastor. Let’s all gather for a “special presentation” to thank and wish him well.
Saturday, Sept. 5, and Sunday, Sept. 6 - Fr. Gary Goldacker’s last weekend with us.
Saturday, Sept. 12, and Sunday, Sept. 13 - 10:00 AM Combined (Sat. and Sun.) worship services.
BISHOP’S ANNUAL VISIT and POT LUCK LUNCH FOLLOWING WORSHIP SERVICE.
The scheduled visit of the Bishop happened to be the perfect timing of the first Sunday after Fr. Goldacker leaves. Bishop Wolfe is excited and “delighted” to have our new Rector, Andrew T. O’Connor, in the Diocese and will visit about him; the current state and the future of Good Shepherd.
-- POT LUCK LUNCH WITH BISHOP WOLFE IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING WORSHIP
Saturday, Sept. 19, and Sunday, Sept. 20 - Canon Mary Siegmund will celebrate the Sat. and both Sun. worship services, continuing the wonderful services of the Diocese to us as we move into the future with a new Rector.
Saturday, Sept. 26, and Sunday, Sept. 27 - THE NEW RECTOR ANDREW T. O’CONNOR begins.
This is what we have been waiting for. The old hymn “This is the day that the Lord has made” fits. Both the Search Committee and the Vestry believe Fr. Andrew T. O’Connor is the Rector God has selected for us at Good Shepherd. We will be able to welcome into our Good Shepherd family Andrew, Heather, Liam (5), twins Luke and Hannah (3 ½), and Holly (1). And, this will be our first opportunity to participate in worship as Fr. Andrew O’Connor celebrates eucharist with us as Good Shepherd’s new Rector.
